Little Chairs to show off designers’ new ranges at 100% Design and Decorex International Love Design

New company Little Chairs, which specialises in selling traditional-style upholstered armchairs and sofas for children has joined forces with PaperBoy and Emily Bond to showcase the designers' new collections at design shows in London this month.

100%Design, Earls Court, London – September 22-25

PaperBoy is launching its new children's fabrics at 100% Design with the help of Little Chairs' Tissington seat, which will be upholstered in PaperBoy's latest Spitfires fabric. The fabric has been designed to mark the 75th anniversary year of the Spitfire and the image on the fabric is in a sprayed graffiti style.

Little Chairs' Osmaston sofa will be covered in Paperboy's new 'Ere be dragons fabric. Both are new children’s fabrics (and wallpapers) from the designer, who mixes traditional themes with a modern English twist.

Visitors to the show will be able to see Little Chairs' Tissington seat and Osmaston sofa at the PaperBoy stand (X51).

Paperboy director Victoria Cramsie said she is delighted to be working with Little Chairs. "Little Chairs is the perfect, complementary product for PaperBoy, and designer and owner Arabella Hampson has some great ideas to develop the look of the chairs that will make Little Chairs a must-have item for parents who want stylish, high-quality, long-lasting furniture for their children to enjoy," Victoria said.

Emily Bond is launching a new children’s collection too and will also be using Little Chairs to model the new fabrics. Little Chairs’ Haddon armchair will be showcasing a Horse & Carriage design from the new range. There will also be one Little Chairs Tissington seat covered in Sailing Boats from Emily Bond's latest collection, along with another Tissington seat upholstered in Red Dachshunds from an existing collection. Both chairs will be at the Emily Bond stand at the exhibition (A11).

New company Little Chairs sells traditional-style upholstered armchairs and sofas in children-sizes, handcrafted in England, using the finest materials.  The chairs are built to last, using the highest quality materials and the best craftsmanship, so they can be a special family heirloom, handed down through the generations.

Little Chairs is the only company in the UK solely making these upholstered armchairs in children’s sizes, which make a very special gift for christenings and birthdays, because they are stylish, sentimental and sustainable.

Arabella Hampson, owner and designer of Little Chairs, says: “As well as being lovely for children, our chairs are statement pieces for those who are passionate about interior design: unique little pieces of furniture with maximum impact that look stylish and original in any room in the house.  That’s why we’re so pleased to be showcasing new designs from PaperBoy and Emily Bond: two British designers who create beautiful fabrics and wallpapers that are wonderfully classic, but with a modern edge, so they appeal to both children and grown-ups.”

Arabella started Little Chairs after she had her own children:  “My husband gave Rufus (now three) a miniature armchair that he had been given as a child. We had it re-covered and Rufus and his friends all adored it.  So when Kitty was born last year, we looked around to see if we could find a similar style chair for her.”

Arabella was surprised that she couldn’t find anything of the highest quality, using the best fabrics, and made in England, so she set about finding the right people to work with in Derbyshire. And Little Chairs was born.

Little Chairs currently has four different chair designs and each design is named after a stately home in Derbyshire, the home of the company: the chairs are the Tissington and the Haddon, the sofa is the Osmaston, and there is also a day bed, the Chatsworth.

They can be bought ready-to-buy, covered in fabrics such as the ones by PaperBoy and Emily Bond, handpicked by Arabella, or the customer can supply their own fabric to Little Chairs so that the furniture can fit in perfectly to their own homes and interior design.

Prices range from £495 to £695 (plus fabric) and the chairs are available from www.little-chairs.com.
